"Discovering The Dead Sea Scrolls" Video Presentation
In the winter of 2006 Storyteller Communications LLC was hired to help promote one of the most significant cultural, scientific and spiritual exhibits ever displayed in the U.S.  In the late 1940's in the Judean desert near the northwest shore of the Dead Sea, an accidental discovery leads to one of the most important archeological discoveries in history. Artifacts from an ancient civilization are found in caves long hidden and undisturbed for 2,000 years. Among the artifacts are jars containing scrolls written on parchment. More than 50,000 scroll fragments ranging in size from several feet to tiny shreds are found in the caves. The scrolls, dated from 250 B.C.E. (Before Common Era or B.C.) to 68 C.E. (Common Era or A.D.), contain a variety of documents including Biblical texts that are 1,000 years older than the previously known texts. From September 23, 2006 to January 7, 2007, Pacific Science Center presents Discovering the Dead Sea Scrolls -- an historic exhibit featuring ten scrolls, four of which have never before been seen by the public. Also featured are artifacts found in the caves plus interactive exhibits on the science behind the scrolls excavation, conservation, and translation. To help promote the exhibit, Doug Tolmie produced an 8-minute marketing video presentation with production help from Chris Raaum and Dan Ibabao. Pacific Science Center President and CEO Bryce Seidl says "Discovering the Dead Sea Scrolls is an amazing, I'd say once in a lifetime opportunity."
