It’s
said, “Good things happen for those who
wait.” Cole Hardman didn’t have to wait
any longer than the day he was born -- March 13, 1987.
The first good thing that happened was that he lived,
despite being born with multiple life-threatening
issues. The second was being rushed to
Children’s Hospital in Seattle where emergency
surgery saved his life. Since that first day, Cole has
lived a life of extraordinary achievement and
influence despite facing constant adversity. Medical
issues that affect his ability to breathe and gain
weight plus the challenges of being legally blind and
severely hearing-impaired in addition to severe
curvature of the spine that has required multiple
surgeries would be overwhelming to most people. Not to
Cole who embraces life and succeeds despite all the
challenges he faces. Thanks to a positive attitude and
a charismatic and energetic personality, the Eastside
Catholic High School graduate served as the youth
spokesperson for Children's Hospital and United Way of
King County. Cole is currently enrolled at the
University of Puget Sound pursuing a degree in
Communications. With support from family and friends
and his service dog, Napoleon, Cole leads a life of
passion and service that inspires and motivates
everyone he meets.
